Sunday was our day off from work. In years past, the group has gone to explore Mayan ruins (I believe Xunantunich), but for something new, Dave decided to take us cave tubing. It was about an hour and a half drive by bus. A group of us spent the drive playing UNO in the back, others chose to sleep or chat. The cave tubing was incredible (but they're aren't many pictures due to the water)! Sparkling stalagmites and stalactites, collapsed caves with fern grottoes, it was beautiful! After cave tubing, the company made a BBQ lunch for us with BBQ chicken, beans, coleslaw, and juice.
Once we were back at the Louisiana Government School we had about an hour to hang out and relax. Dinner was homemade tamales that the women worked tirelessly on all morning. They were packed in two coolers and there were TONS of them. We headed off to our separate churches. Our groups put on the services with singing, testimonies, readings, and preaching from the leaders. It was a fun day full of relaxing, worship, and getting to know one another even better.
I included some pictures of the girls' room, since that is one thing I was always curious about in Belize.
