Since Justin and I share a birthday, I let him take center stage on the actual day and celebrate my birthday a few days later. When I was thinking about what restaurant I wanted to go to, I kept coming back to having it at home. After Ashley and BJ spoiled my mom and I with dinner on Mother's Day, I thought having it at our house would be perfect. I checked with Ashley and BJ and they were game.
We had appetizers, played card games, ate salad, played board games, ate dinner, opened presents, and had ice cream cake. When the kids were done with dinner they just went off to play. We put them to bed after dessert and played charades. The whole night was perfect!!
