Haley had her eyes dilated and checked out. BJ and I have never worn glasses so I had no idea what the exam would entail. Haley was a little nervous, but when she realized they wouldn't give her a shot, then she was okay. The nurse was fabulous with Haley. She was so patient and explained everything.
The whole procedure Haley was cracking me up. First she had a hard time naming some objects (not due to vision) and then when her eyes were dilated and we were waiting she told me "Mom, Sophie is really blurry" (a character in her book she's seen a hundred times).
It turns out Haley's vision isn't perfect, but it's within normal for a 4 year old. She'll go back and get them checked in a year, but she's good for now.
